Motor racing-Hamilton fit to race at Nuerburgring, say McLaren

NUERBURGRING, Germany, July 21 (Reuters) Formula One championship leader Lewis Hamilton is fit to race in tomorrow's European Grand Prix, his McLaren team said today.

''There is at this moment in time absolutely no medical reason that he can't race,'' team boss Ron Dennis told reporters after the 22-year-old Briton returned to the paddock from hospital after a heavy crash in qualifying.

Hamilton must, however, have a final check by the International Automobile Federation's doctor tomorrow morning before being formally cleared to race.
