Motor racing-Japan GP host to refund 3 million dollar for poor seats

By Staff

TOKYO, Oct 1 (Reuters) Fuji Speedway will refund a total of 350 million yen (3 million dollar) to spectators whose seats offered poor views of Japanese Grand Prix, according to Japanese media.

Organisers were inundated with complaints after thousands of spectators struggled to see the track due to the positioning of their seats.

''These temporary seats were set up right before the race and we were unable to thoroughly check the conditions,'' Mainichi Newspaper quoted the president of Fuji Speedway as saying yesterday.

Sunday's race was the first time in 30 years the Fuji Speedway had hosted a Formula 1 grand prix.
