The Madhya Pradesh Throwball Association Secretary, Avinash Burbure, in a statement said that the M P Women's team secured the second position while the men's team stood third in the championship.
Burbure said that Madhya Pradesh Women's team reached the final defeating Delhi by 15-10 and 15-12, but hosts Bihar beat Madhya Pradesh by 15-12 and 15-8 in the final match. In the men's section, Madhya Pradesh reached the quarter final by defeating all the teams in the league matches, but it lost to hosts Bihar by 15-12 and 15-10 in the semi-final and thus it got third position by defeating Goa by a 15-8 and 15-5, he said.
A total of 18 states took part in the women's championship while in the men's category 22 states had participated, Burbure said. He said that the Bihar Sports and culture minister, Dr.Sugda Pandey distributed trophy to the runners-up team. PTI AS DK
