MPOA slams Sports Regulatory Authority

Bhopal, Aug 23 (UNI) Lambasting the Centre's proposed Sports Regulatory Authority, the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association (MPOA) today alleged that the motive behind the move seemed to rein overthe sports bodies.

''Such attempts at government intervention will not only obstruct development of sports but also deal a body blow to sportspersons' interests,'' MPOA President and former Minister Mahesh Joshi told reporters here.

The issue would be raised on September 7 at Delhi during a meeting regarding the Sports Policy 2007.
