Murali chosen Player of the Month by Lancashire

London, Aug 16 (UNI) Sri Lankan off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has won Front Row Events Lancashire Player of the Month for July.

Murali, who was signed as an overseas player for Lancashire this year, took a match-winning 4-18 in Lancashire Lightning's six-run thrilling win over Warwicks Bears in the Twenty20 Cup quarter-final match last month, which he played after stepping off the plane early morning on the same day.

He then took his 21st five-wicket haul for the county in only his 25th first class outing for the team in the match against Sussex at Liverpool.

He has continued his form by taking another five against Yorkshire at the start of this month.
