Jamal Murray was determined to play for the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, despite being listed on the injury report. The 28-year-old woke up feeling unwell but managed to score 25 points, grab eight rebounds, and provide seven assists. His performance helped secure a 119-107 win, tying the series and setting up a decisive final game.
Murray was asked if he considered sitting out the game. "Absolutely not," he replied, as quoted by ESPN. He explained that once the game begins, adrenaline takes over. Seeing a few shots go in helps him push through any discomfort. Murray wasn't cleared to play until 45 minutes before tip-off after receiving treatment, including intravenous fluids.

Nuggets star Nikola Jokic praised Murray's contribution, saying, "He opened the game really good for us." Jokic himself had an impressive performance with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists. He noted that during the game, players don't focus on their problems or ailments.
Nuggets coach David Adelman admitted he was concerned during the game's early stages. "I kind of was watching the first six minutes [thinking], 'Is this real? Can he do it?'" he said. Despite his initial doubts, Adelman observed that Murray had good energy and determination throughout.
Murray's resilience impressed Adelman. "There were times when he wanted to get back to the ball," Adelman noted. Even though Murray struggled with breathing at times due to fatigue, his toughness shone through. "It's almost like the worse it is, the better off it's going to be," Adelman added.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder expressed disappointment with how the game unfolded for his team. He scored 32 points and provided six assists but acknowledged their opponents' urgency. "Obviously, it was a win-or-die situation for them," he said. To win next time, they must prevent such a strong start from their rivals.
The series now hinges on a final showdown between these two teams. Both sides will need to bring their best performances to advance further in the playoffs.
