Myanmar, Kazakh lifters suspended

By Staff

Chiang Mai, Thailand, Sep 21: Two weightlifters from Myanmar and Kazakhstan have been suspended for two years for tampering with their urine samples at the world championships, the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) said today.

Kazakh Mukhit Usenbaev, who competed in the men's 69kg category, and Myanmar's Thant Zin Hnin (women's 53kg), attempted to manipulate samples provided during this week's competition, IWF President Tamas Ajan told a news conference.

''We don't accept manipulation of urine, we have very strict controls,'' Ajan said.
