Nabil Anane Labels ONE Fight Night 24 Victory As His Greatest Performance

By Mike Joseph

After a striking masterclass at ONE Fight Night 24, bantamweight Muay Thai giant Nabil Anane rides a huge five-fight winning streak in ONE Championship, and the Thai-Algerian feels this past weekend's victory was his best outing yet.

The 6-foot-4 fighter outstruck former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title challenger and #3-ranked contender Felipe Lobo across three rounds on Saturday, 3 August, inside Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Stadium to pick up the unanimous decision in resounding fashion.

Since debuting a year ago against flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9, the 20-year-old has toppled Nakrob Fairtex, Muangthai PK Saenchai, and Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai. But Anane feels none can compare to his performance on show against Lobo.

"This is one of the biggest wins in my life. Because it's in one of the biggest promotions in the world, the best of the best like Yodchatri [Sityodtong, ONE Chairman and CEO] said," Anane beamed. "[Lobo was] ranked number three in ONE Championship. So I'm very proud of myself. I'm proud of my team."

There are many positives to reaching the upper echelon of any weight bracket. Accompanying the success comes the chatter of World Title fights, and Anane now finds himself a subject in those conversations.

However, the long-limbed striker is only 20 years old. While everyone has been impressed with his flourishing performances, Anane knows time is on his side and he feels under no pressure to rush to a World Title opportunity.

Instead, he's happy to take things one fight at a time and improve as much as he can. He knows one day he'll wear the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title. And he wants to be as undeniable as possible when the moment arrives.

"I have got a lot of things to learn, more and more. Step by step. I always say this to everyone. There's no rush. I have got a lot of time. [I have] many things to improve," Anane said.

"When I [am ready to] get the belt, I will tell you. But for now, I want to learn more. I want to have more experience, and when I'm ready, I'll be the World Champion, and I don't want anyone to beat me."
