The state's commitment is evidenced by the organisation of the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024, featuring competitions across 16 sports disciplines including popular sports such as archery, athletics, and football. The state has a history of producing distinguished sports personalities like Dr. T Ao and Chekrovolu Swuro, who have left indelible marks on Indian sports.

With plans to introduce the SFA Championships to the North-Eastern region, this collaboration aims to tap into the area's untapped sporting potential.

The initiative sets a visionary roadmap to host 150 Championships in 50 cities across India over the next five years, making organised sports accessible to school athletes nationwide and empowering them to aspire to Olympic representation.
