Narasimharaja Wadiyar elected as KSCA President
Bangalore, Sep 9 (UNI) In a setback to either warring group, last Scion of Mysore Royal family Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar was elected as President of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
In a keenly contested election here today, while legendary cricketer G R Vishwanath failed to defeat Mr Wadiyar, former cricketer Brijesh Patel managed to retain his position trouncing former national curator G Kasturirangan, who was put as a challenger to Patel by the Wadiyar group.
Though Patel managed to maintain his prominence, he could not help Vishwanath get elected as President.
Beaming Wadiyar told newspersons that ''We are happy that the voters had faith in us. Though we lost the Secretary's post, hopefully we will make the opposition group work in the right direction.'' Roger Binny, who was elected as Vice President, said, ''I am happy that I have been elected. We will sit together and work for betterment of the Karnataka Cricket.'' UNI RS MSP PK KN2253
