National Games will be held on schedule, asserts Aiyar

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) Uncowered by the recent terror attacks in Asom, Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar today asserted that the National Games will begin on February 9 as scheduled with adequate security arrangements.

Insisting that the recent terror strikes in the troubled state would have no impact on the Games, scheduled to start on February 9, Mr Aiyar said, ''From the information that I have received from Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and others, things are going extremely well and all the organisational arrangements have been made. The security arrangements are also tight,'' he told reporters here.

He also ruled out the fear factor among the participants and said, ''The teams are coming and we are expecting to have an excellent National Games.'' UNI AY PM VV1852
