Navjot Sidhu to participate in CT Half-Marathon on Feb 24

Jalandhar, Feb 11 (UNI) For the noble cause of charity to Pingalwara, Red Cross and other organisations, CT Group of Institution is organising CT Half-Marathon'08 here on February 24.

Addressing a joint press conference here today, CT Educational Society chairman Charanjeet Singh Channi and Punjab Sport Director Pargat Singh, said that crickter-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu would lead the Half-Marathon along with other celebrities from the Bollywood and Punjab.

Mr Channi informed that last year over 7000 runners participated in the race including 95-year-old Fauja Singh, who had smashed seveal world records and entered the Guiness Book of World Records as the world's oldest and fastest 90-plus marathoner.

The marathon would conver the distance of 21.0397 km from CT Institutions, Shahpur Campus to CT Institutions Maqsudan Campus, Mr Channi said.

The winners of the race would get cash prizes along with certificates, he said adding that Rs 21,000, Rs 11,000 and Rs 5,100 would be given to first, second and third position holders respectively in both male and female categories and the next seven position holders would get cash prizes of Rs 1100 each.
