ONE Friday Fights 157: Nazareth Lalthazuala Eyes Third Straight Win Against Jhon Brutas

Unbeaten Indian MMA fighter Nazareth Lalthazuala will meet the Philippines' Jhon Brutas in a strawweight clash at ONE Friday Fights 157 on 5 June. The bout opens the card at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium and streams in India at 7:00 p.m. IST.

The 25-year-old Dojang MMA athlete holds a 7-0 professional record. He has finished four wins inside the distance so far. Lalthazuala is also 2-0 in ONE Championship. That record underlines his quick progress on the promotion's global stage.

Lalthazuala made his ONE debut in 2025 against Japan's Masaki Suzuki. He won that fight by knockout in just 17 seconds. In February 2026, he faced Philippines' Jake Bron. He secured a second-round submission for his second straight victory.

Lalthazuala said he felt proud of his first submission win. He stressed that he wants to improve each day. He gave credit to his coaches and training partners. "Thanks to my team for believing in me," Lalthazuala said after the Bron victory.

Standing opposite him in Bangkok will be Brutas, who debuts in ONE. The fighter from the Philippines is regarded as a strong striker and grappler. He presents a serious test for the undefeated Indian. That is despite his lack of promotional experience.

Lalthazuala said he is eager to test himself against tough rivals. He wants to meet international opponents on the global stage. "I want to fight tough fighters on the global stage and make India proud. My opponent is a strong grappler, but I am ready for him," he said.

Lalthazuala also spoke about his style and identity as a fighter. He described himself as well-rounded and dangerous in all areas. "I am a complete fighter. I can fight both on the ground and in the stand-up game. I am dangerous everywhere," he said.
