NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers Achieve Historic 14th Win While Thunder Extend Streak To Seven Games

The Cleveland Cavaliers secured their 14th consecutive victory against the Milwaukee Bucks, while the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to seven games with a dominant win over the Denver Nuggets. Both teams showcased impressive performances in recent NBA matchups.

Max Strus led the Cleveland Cavaliers to their 14th straight victory, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 112-100. Strus scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds, contributing significantly to the win. This achievement makes Cleveland only the second team in NBA history to win 14 consecutive games in a season while scoring at least 110 points each time. The Boston Celtics first accomplished this during their championship season in 1985-86.

All five starters for Cleveland scored in double digits. Donovan Mitchell added 15 points, while Darius Garland and Evan Mobley each contributed 13 points. Strus was instrumental with five of the team's 19 successful three-pointers. Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo's impressive performance with 30 points and nine rebounds, Milwaukee suffered its second loss in two nights.

Cavaliers and Thunder Continue Winning Streaks

The Cavaliers took control early, never trailing after securing a 9-8 lead within the first few minutes. Strus scored 14 points in the first half, helping Cleveland build a 62-52 advantage by halftime. A decisive fourth-quarter run of 13 unanswered points extended their lead to 102-84 with just over four minutes remaining.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to seven games with a commanding 127-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shone brightly with 40 points and eight rebounds, outperforming Nikola Jokić in this matchup of MVP contenders. Oklahoma City's lead atop the Western Conference grew to 12 games over both Denver and Los Angeles Lakers.

Jalen Williams supported with an impressive performance, scoring 26 points alongside nine rebounds and eight assists. Isaiah Hartenstein also contributed significantly by scoring ten points and securing eleven rebounds while limiting Jokić's effectiveness. Despite Jokić's efforts, he managed only nine second-half points.

Denver initially led by ten but saw Oklahoma City take a commanding lead early in the third quarter after an eight-point run. Jamal Murray's late third-quarter three-pointer narrowed the gap to three, but Oklahoma City dominated the final period, shooting nearly 74% and outscoring Denver by a wide margin.

Clippers' Narrow Overtime Win

In another thrilling game, Kawhi Leonard's buzzer-beater secured a narrow overtime victory for the Los Angeles Clippers against Sacramento Kings, winning 111-110. Leonard struggled throughout but delivered when it mattered most with his decisive shot as time expired.

James Harden played a crucial role for Los Angeles with his contribution of 29 points and eleven assists. Ivica Zubac added strength inside with his double-double performance of twenty-two points and fourteen rebounds. Despite missing head coach Tyronn Lue due to back pain, the Clippers overcame a late deficit to secure their third consecutive win.

DeMar DeRozan led all scorers with thirty-one points while adding ten assists for Sacramento. Zach LaVine contributed thirty points as well; however, it wasn't enough as Los Angeles rallied from behind late in regulation before trading leads multiple times during overtime.

The Clippers' resilience was evident as they erased Sacramento's seven-point lead late in regulation thanks largely to Harden’s game-tying floater that forced overtime where both teams exchanged leads until Leonard sealed it at buzzer time without any further delay or hesitation whatsoever!
