In another match, the Golden State Warriors clinched a spot in the NBA Cup knockout stage by defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 112-108. Andrew Wiggins led with a season-high 30 points, helping the Warriors maintain their top position in the Western Conference with a 12-3 record. Stephen Curry added 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists to secure their third win in West Group C.

Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving played a crucial role for Dallas, scoring 13 of his 19 points in the second quarter. This helped the Mavericks build a substantial half-time lead of 73-53 after outscoring Denver by an impressive margin of 40-22 during that period. The Nuggets managed to close the gap with an 18-2 run in the third quarter but ultimately fell short.

The Philadelphia 76ers ended their losing streak with a decisive 113-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Jared McCain led with 30 points, sparking a second-half comeback despite missing key players Joel Embiid and Paul George due to injuries. Tyrese Maxey also contributed significantly with 26 points as Philadelphia rallied from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter.

Nikola Jokic returned for Denver after missing three games for personal reasons, delivering an impressive performance with 33 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists. His efforts helped Denver take a late lead after trailing by as much as 24 points in the third quarter. However, Dallas responded strongly in the final minutes to reclaim control.

Nuggets' Struggles Continue

The Nuggets managed to take a brief lead at one point but couldn't maintain it against Dallas's late surge. Washington's five consecutive points tied the game before Quentin Grimes' free throws and Washington's layup gave Dallas a decisive edge. Despite closing within one point twice in the final minute, Denver couldn't regain control.

The Brooklyn Nets suffered another setback despite Cameron Johnson's season-high of 37 points and nine successful three-pointers. They briefly led after half-time but were unable to hold off Philadelphia's strong response led by McCain and Maxey. Both teams now stand at one win and two losses in East Group A of the NBA Cup.

P.J. Washington sealed Dallas's victory with two free throws just before time expired as Denver turned over possession in their final attempt to equalise. This result marked Denver's third loss in four games while Dallas improved its standing within West Group C of NBA Cup play.
