NBA: Lonzo Ball will miss two more games with MCL injury

Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball is expected to miss more game time as he recovers from a medial collateral ligament injury.

LA Lakers guard Lonzo Ball

Los Angeles, February 2: Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball is expected to miss more game time as he recovers from a medial collateral ligament injury.

Ball has already missed eight games with a sprained MCL he suffered in a game against the Dallas Mavericks on January 13, but the 20-year-old is set to sit out at least two more.

Lakers head coach Luke Walton told reporters he does not plan to play the rookie guard until the team returns from their current five-game road trip. They have two more games before returning home to Los Angeles against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

"Today was our last real practice," Walton said on Thursday (February 1).

"Saturday will be a shootaround and he will not play before he practices, so he is out until at least we get home."

With Ball out of the line-up, the Lakers are 4-4 in their last eight games.

Ball now missed 14 games this season with various injuries. He is averaging 10.2 points, 7.1 assists and 7.1 rebounds in 36 games played.
