NBA: Thunder Achieve 10th Straight Win While Celtics Extend Streak To Nine Games

The Oklahoma City Thunder secured their 10th consecutive win against the Chicago Bulls, while the Boston Celtics extended their streak to nine games with a victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Both teams showcased strong performances and solidified their positions in the league.

Isaiah Joe's impressive 31-point performance off the bench propelled the Oklahoma City Thunder to a dominant 145-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls. This win marked their 10th consecutive triumph, with Joe contributing eight of the team's 23 successful three-pointers. The Thunder now boasts an exceptional 28-1 record against Eastern Conference teams this season, maintaining their position as NBA leaders.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams also played pivotal roles, scoring 27 and 23 points respectively. Both players rested in the fourth quarter as the Thunder had already secured a comfortable lead. Josh Giddey, in his first game back in Oklahoma City since joining the Bulls, added 15 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds. Giddey was traded from the Thunder to Chicago for Alex Caruso in June.

Thunder and Celtics Continue Winning Streaks

The Thunder's dominance was evident from the start, with Joe scoring 11 points within six minutes of the first quarter. The Bulls struggled offensively, shooting only 30% and trailing by 11 points entering the second quarter. By halftime, Oklahoma City had extended their lead to a commanding 74-40 margin, effectively putting the game out of reach for Chicago.

In contrast to Oklahoma City's success, Chicago's defeat marked their second consecutive loss. This setback pushed them into 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are now one game behind Miami after the Heat secured a victory over Washington Wizards on Monday.

The Boston Celtics continued their impressive run by defeating Memphis Grizzlies 117-103, marking their ninth consecutive win. Al Horford scored a season-high of 26 points off the bench while Jayson Tatum added another 25 points. The Celtics have been particularly strong on the road with an impressive record of 32-7.

Memphis initially led by seven points after one quarter but couldn't maintain momentum as Boston took control late in the first half. Despite Ja Morant's contribution of 26 points and Jaren Jackson Jr.'s double-double performance, Memphis suffered another defeat under interim coach Tuomas Iisalo.

Lakers' Bench Shines Against Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers relied on their bench strength to secure a crucial win over Houston Rockets with a scoreline of 104-98. Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent each scored six three-pointers contributing significantly to their team's success despite Luka Dončić and LeBron James facing shooting struggles.

Houston's key players Jalen Green and Fred Van Vleet were effectively contained by Los Angeles' defense which limited them to underwhelming performances compared to previous games post-All-Star break.

The Rockets managed to stay competitive throughout despite shooting woes but ultimately fell short as Finney-Smith sealed victory for Lakers with late free throws ensuring they maintained control till final buzzer sounded.
