Neeraj Chopra has been a scintillating performer for India in the athletic circle over the years. The Indian athlete clinched a Gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and has managed a Silver medal in Paris as well.
The city of love rejoiced along with the Indian tricolour as Neeraj reigned supreme in the final of the javelin throw event on Thursday.

After a comprehensive performance in the qualification event, Neeraj stood tall again in the final but finished second to Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who clinched the Gold with a 92.97m throw.

Neeraj Chopra clinched a Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympics and thus became the first Indian track and field athlete to win a Gold in the Olympics.
In June 2022, at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland, Neeraj Chopra achieved a new personal best of 89.30m, securing second place and setting a new national record. He then surpassed his own record with an impressive throw of 89.94m at the Stockholm Diamond League, again finishing second.
In July 2022, Chopra earned a historic silver medal at the Oregon World Championships with a throw of 88.13m on his fourth attempt in the men's javelin throw final. This marked India's second medal at the World Athletics Championships, following Anju Bobby George's bronze in long jump in 2003.
On 26 August 2022, Chopra clinched first place at the Lausanne Diamond League with a throw of 89.09m, which qualified him for the Zurich Final. On 8 September, he won the Zurich Final with a throw of 88.44m, becoming the first Indian to achieve this feat and securing his spot for the 2023 World Championships.
In May 2023, Chopra continued his winning streak by claiming the top spot in the Doha Diamond League with a throw of 88.67m.
That same month, he reached another milestone by achieving first position in the men's javelin throw rankings issued by World Athletics for the first time.
In August 2023, Chopra won gold at the World Athletics Championships with a throw of 88.17m.
Neeraj Chopra then went on to win the Gold in the Asian Games, where he threw a season-best 88.88m. This was Neeraj's second consecutive Gold in the Asian Games.
In the Diamond League in June, Neeraj managed to win Silver after an 88.36m throw.
Despite an erroneous performance in the final, where Neeraj had four unsuccessful throws, the Indian athlete still managed to clinch a Silver medal with a best throw of 89.45 metres.
