Throwing a Javelin far far away is not a matter of joke. It requires immense strength and fitness to be an athlete, and for a Javelin thrower, the fitness level requires even greater sacrifices.
Neeraj Chopra won the Gold Medal in the World Athletics Championship on Sunday (August 27). The Indian athlete has made the nation proud with his achievement and has earned the plaudits of the netizens from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

They say a Javelin thrower mustn't have a body fat percentage greater than 12. A 10 per cent body fat percentage is kind of perfect for a Javelin thrower and Neeraj tries to keep it at that level.
Maintaining a 10 per cent body fat is never easy and it requires a strict diet plan and immense dedication. The athlete recently revealed to ESPN about his diet plan where he opened up about his newly adapted foods, cheat meals and daily routine foods.
The athlete replenishes himself with plenty of protein-rich foods and macronutrients, with a perfect combination of micronutrients. The star follows his diet regimen and avoids gluten-associated foods.
He revealed he also consumes non-vegetarian food now to improve his performance, being a strict vegetarian till 2016. Neeraj stated he generally adheres to his strict routine, but sometimes he doesn't mind delving into some cheat meals.
Neeraj's day starts with fresh fruit juice or coconut water. The player keeps egg whites, chicken in his diet while he also sometimes eats Salmon fish for its healthy fats and protein.
The athlete also revealed he likes to keep his dinner light and also consumes many types of fruits, both fresh and dry.

Breakfast: 3 to 4 Egg Whites, Two pieces of Bread, a bowl of Dalia, Fruits
Lunch: Curd and Rice, Pulses, Salad, Grilled Chicken/Salmon Fish
Food between Meals/Training: Dry Fruits, Almonds, Fresh Juice
Dinner: Soup, Boiled Vegetables, Fruits
Neeraj Chopra says Grilled Salmon is something he prefers these days.
"It's supposed to be good for you. I have started eating it recently. If I have to eat non-vegetarian food, I'll prefer having some grilled salmon," Neeraj said.
Neeraj Chopra generally enjoys Churma (a Haryanvi dessert made of crushed roti, ghee, and sugar) and many other types of sweets. The athlete also likes to eat Golgappa (Panipuri) on his cheat days.
