Neeraj Chopra: If Not A Javelin Star, My Alternate Choice Would Be..!

Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic gold medalist and world champion, recently shared insights about his life during a rapid-fire question session at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Innovation Lab's Leaders Meet India in Bengaluru.Recalling his training in Bengaluru in 2016-17, Neeraj expressed positive memories of the city.

When asked about his cricket skills, Neeraj revealed his proficiency in both batting and bowling, with a preference for the "bhatta" (throwing) style of bowling. He cited javelin thrower Jan Zelezny as his role model, praising the Czech Republic athlete's world record of 98.48 meters in men's javelin throw.

In terms of his interests outside of sports, Neeraj disclosed his passion for photography, expressing a love for capturing moments wherever he goes. When questioned about his favorite sports movie, he mentioned "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag," a film based on the life of legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh.

Discussing stylish cricketers, Neeraj highlighted Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. He commended Iyer's love for clothes and sneakers, acknowledging the stylish demeanor of Gill and Kohli.

Reflecting on his remarkable year, Neeraj celebrated his gold medal win at the Asian Games, where compatriot Kishore Kumar Jena secured a silver medal. Neeraj defended his title and made history at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, securing India's first-ever gold medal in the event with a throw of 88.17 meters.

With victories in the Asian Games, Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and World Athletics Championships, along with a Diamond League title, Neeraj Chopra has achieved an unparalleled feat in javelin throwing. His consistent success and unwavering pursuit of gold have set a remarkable example in the world of athletics.
