Neeraj Chopra and some members of the Indian men's hockey team joined an elusive list as multi-time Olympic medallists after their medal wins at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday (August 8).
India has won a total of 40 medals at the Olympics so far with 10 golds, 10 silver and 20 bronze. Chopra became the first Indian to win a gold and silver in individual events at the Olympic games following a second-place finish in men's javelin throw final at Paris 2024.

PR Sreejesh, Harmanpreet Singh and Manpreet Singh among others in the men's hockey team also added their second Olympic medal following a victory over Spain in the bronze medal match on August 8.
Earlier, Shooter Manu Bhaker had become the first ever Indian to win multiple medals in a single Olympic event post independence after a double bronze in Paris 2024. Bhaker won the copper metal in women's 10m air pistol event and the mixed team event.
The 22-year-old won the bronze medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol alongside Sarabjot Singh. She can shoots for further glory in the women's 25m pistol event in the Summer Olympics in Paris.
With their medals in Paris 2024, Chopra, Bhaker, Sreejesh and the other members of the Indian men's hockey team joined the likes of PV Sindhu, Sushil Kumar and hockey legends as multiple Olympic medal winners. As it stands, 41 athletes or sports personalities from India have won an Olympic medal more than one time.
While 48 of the 53 multiple Olympics medal winners were part of the hockey teams that dominated the Olympic games with multiple golds until 1972, 5 atheletes won the medal in individual sports. Here is a look India's multi-time Olympics medallists:
