Neeraj Chopra Reveals His Roadmap For Paris Olympics 2024

Indian javelin throw sensation Neeraj Chopra is gearing up for the Paris Olympics 2024 with meticulous planning and strategic training. The Games are less than three months away, increasing curiosity among fans about how the reigning champions is preparing for Paris.

After an impressive second-place finish at the Doha Diamond League 2024, where he launched a season-opening attempt of 88.36 meters, Chopra outlined his roadmap for the upcoming Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra Paris Olympics 2024 roadmap

"The main thing is that the focus this year is the Paris Olympics," Neeraj emphasised while speaking to NNIS in Doha. "The main thing is when I feel good, then I will get a good throw. So I have to see that. And there are a lot of competitions ahead. I will play 3-4 competitions before the Paris Olympics."

Over the last few months, Neeraj Chopra has been honing his skills across various training camps. Starting with Potchefstroom, South Africa, where he trained till February 29, Chopra then shifted his training base to Europe, where he trained in Turkey.

Accompanied by his coach and biomechanics expert Dr. Klaus Bartonietz and physio Ishaan Marwaha, Neeraj trained at the Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey from the first week of March to the final week of May.

Despite his rigorous training schedule abroad, Neeraj Chopra, who booked his Olympic quota last year at World Athletics Championships, is also making time for domestic competitions. For the first time in three years, he will be competing in the Indian domestic event, the Federation Cup, scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar from May 12 to 15.

Looking ahead, Chopra's focus remains on competing in Diamond League events as part of his Olympic preparation. While it's yet to be confirmed where he will train after the Bhubaneswar event, it's likely to be in Europe, where he will participate in various Diamond League competitions throughout the calendar year.

When asked about his plans to compete in every Diamond League event, Neeraj Chopra mentioned that his coach will make the final decision.

However, Paris Diamond League is the only Diamond League event, where he can compete Paris Diamond League on July 7. Lausanne Diamond League, which includes men's javelin, is scheduled two weeks after the men's javelin final at the Olympics.
