Neeraj Chopra's Brand Value Soars Post-Paris 2024 Olympics; Surpasses Hardik Pandya, Narrows Gap With Rohit Sharma

By Rishab V M

The resounding success of Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics 2024 is significantly boosting their brand valuations, with javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra leading the charge.

Having secured two Olympic medals, he is witnessing dramatic increases in his market worth. Neeraj Chopra is set to surpass many of India's top cricketers in terms of brand valuation.

Neeraj Chopra s Brand Value Soars Post-Paris 2024 Olympics Surpasses Hardik Pandya Narrows Gap With Rohit Sharma

Neeraj Chopra, who clinched a silver medal in javelin at the Paris 2024 Games, is expected to see his brand valuation surge from USD 29.6 million (approximately INR 246 crore) to over USD 40 million (around INR 330 crore), according to data from financial advisory firm Kroll.

Before the Olympics, Neeraj's valuation was comparable to that of Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. However, his impressive performance in Paris, where he secured a silver medal, is projected to elevate his valuation beyond Pandya's, marking a significant milestone in his career. The Baroda cricketer has a brand value of Rs 322 crore

Chopra's remarkable ascent is not just due to his recent success but also his consistent performance on the global stage. Over the years, Neeraj has achieved notable victories at the Asian Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and Diamond League.

His endorsement portfolio includes globally renowned brands such as VISA, Samsung, Omega, Under Armour, Coca-Cola, Britannia, and Bharat Petroleum. His latest achievement in Paris has only solidified his position as one of India's most marketable sports personalities.

Neeraj's latest feat places him in an elite group of Indian athletes who have won medals in consecutive Olympic Games. His silver medal in Paris complements the gold he won in Tokyo three years ago, making him the only athlete from track and field to achieve this remarkable consistency.

Despite finishing second in the men's javelin final in Paris, behind Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, Chopra's throw of 89.45 meters was the best of his season and reinforced his status as India's premier track and field athlete.

Chopra's brand valuation is set to see an impressive rise by 30-40% (to top $40 million, or about Rs 330 crore), the highest for a non-cricket athlete in India.
The success of Chopra is setting new benchmarks in the realm of sports endorsements in India.

Brand Value of Top 5 Indian Athletes

Virat Kohli continues to lead the list at a staggering ₹1,912 crore, underscoring his global appeal both on and off the cricket field. Close behind are legends MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, each valued at ₹766 crore, reflecting their enduring legacy and iconic status in the sport.

Rohit Sharma and Neeraj Chopra, valued at ₹344 crore and ₹335 crore respectively, demonstrate the growing recognition of their achievements and the increasing commercial potential of Indian sports stars beyond cricket.

Chopra's achievements not only enhance his brand value but also reflect the growing commercial potential of Indian athletes on the global stage.
