Nel has ability to replace Steyn, says Arthur

London, Jul 29 (UNI) Welcoming pace bowler Andre Nel in the place of tearaway speedster Dale Styen for the third Test starting tomorrow at Edgbaston, South African coach Mickey Arthur stated that he can fill the gap left by the injured bowler.

''Any time Andre plays for South Africa he's fired up. I can't wait to see him bowl hard. I think he's going to do really well,'' Arthur told the BBC.

''We've backed Andre a huge amount over the last couple of months and I've got a feeling he is going to come through this one fantastically. It just shows that when you plan there has to be a queue and some succession in place,'' he said Claiming that South Africa now developed as a full unit and abscense of some players will not harm the squad's composition, Arthur said ''We have the ability now to lose one guy and be able to bring back a guy who is a hardened Test-match campaigner. So we are fortunate to do that, but that's how we structured our team.'' Steyn has broked his thumb on the first day of the tour game against Bangladesh A which ended in a draw.

Steyn claimed seven-wickets at Headingley in which South Africa defeated England by 10-wickets.

Nel, who often attracts as much publicity for his verbal spats with opponents as he does his bowling, has claimed 119 wickets in his 34 Tests at an average of 31.22.
