Neo Sports unveils pan Asia roll out plan
New Delhi, Mar (UNI) Neo Sports, India's first cricket-only TV channel launched in October, will soon be commencing operations in more countries of Asia.
The Pan Asian roll out plan includes key markets in West Asia, Bangladesh, Hongkong, Sri Lanka and Nepal, Malaysia and Singapore.
Announcing these deals, Shashi Kalathil, Chief Executive Officer, Neo Sports Broadcast Pvt. Ltd. said that ''In barely three months of our commercial launch in India, we have succeeded in a comprehensive pan Asian roll-out. Asia is a very important market for us as it is an amalgamation of cultures and nationalities with a huge Indian ethnic community.'' The revenues from the pan Asian operations of Neo Sports outside India, between subscription and advertising are expected to add up to approx 26 million dollars in 2007-08, he said.
Neo Sports, owned by Nimbus Communications, is involved in a legal battle with the Prasar Bharati for refusing live feed of sports events to the public broadcaster.
