New Delhi Heroes to battle for honours at 4th Lt Governor's Cup

New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) The fourth Lt Governor's Invitational DDA Football Tournament will kick off here today.

The tournament will feature 10 Non-NFL teams, four teams from Delhi and six teams from other states.

The four teams from Delhi are Osian's New Delhi Heroes, Indian National FC , Ahbab FC, Garhwal Heroes FC while the six teams invited from other states are Punjab Police (Jalandhar), ONGC (Bombay), Peerless (Kolkata), BSF (Jalandhar), J&K Bank (Srinagar) and State Bank of Travancore, Sports Board, Trivandrum, (Kerala).

The tournament will be conducted on a league basis till the quarter-finals and on knock-out basis from the semi-finals onwards.

The prize money has been increased to 4.20 Lakh, where the winning team receives Rs two Lakh, runner-up Team Rs one Lakh, two semi-finalist teams Rs 50,000 each and the four best players of the tournament Rs 5000 each.

The tournament will conclude on February 25.
