New Zealand to play 3 ODIs in Pakistan

By Staff

Wellington, Jul 16 (UNI) Brushing aside the security concerns, New Zealand cricket team has agreed to play three warm-up matches in Pakistan ahead of the September's Champions Trophy tournament.

A New Zealand Cricket (NZC) spokesman Steve Addison today said the dates and venues for the matches would be confirmed when existing security concerns had been addressed.

He also said no Kiwi player yet had made himself unavailable for the tour on security grounds.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected on Sunday to release a new security report on the staging of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

The event could be rescheduled or moved to Sri Lanka if a threat is perceived.
