Nitish announces cash award of Rs 11 lakh to Bindra

Patna, Aug 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced a cash award of Rs 11 lakh to Abhinav Bindra who won a Gold medal in 10-Meters Air Rifle shooting event at the Beijing Olymics.

Kumar announced this at a press conference, called on the sidelines of Janta Durbar at his residence here, and said by winning laurels for the country, Bindra had made all the people of the country proud.

''Indoor wing of sports complex being constructed in Kankarbagh locality of Patna, would be named after Mr Bindra as a mark of honour for his glorious performance in Beijing Olympics,'' Mr Kumar said.
