Nitu Ghanghas will be one of two Indian boxers competing in the final of the 2023 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi on Saturday (March 25).
Nitu, a former Youth World Champion, will take on Mongolia's Lutsaikhany Altantsetseg in the Minimumweight (45-48 kg) category championship bout.

The Commonwealth gold medallist from India secured a split decision win over last edition's silver medallist and Kazakhstan's Alua Balkibekova in the semifinal clash. This was Nitu's revenge for her quarterfinal defeat to the Kazakh in the 2022 World Championships.
In the earlier rounds, Nitu, had earned a RSC (Referee Stopped Contest) win over Korea's Kang Do-yeon in the opening round followed by two more RSC wins over Tajikistan's Sumaiya Kosimova and Japan's Madoka Wada.
