No entry for Indian athletes, say London hotel officials

London, Apr 30: Indian shooters, who are currently in London to participate in the ISSF World Cup, were harassed as they were denied entry into a hotel in the city.

The Indian athletes were shocked when the hotel staff rejected to hand over the room-keys to the group and later they (hotel officials) returned the money paid for the rooms.

Exact reason, however, has not been revealed yet but the rifle and pistol team had no clue when they were asked to leave the hotel premise on Saturday, Apr 29.

NRAI - the shooting federation moved the Indian High Commission in London and finally managed to book rooms in a different hotel.

A written complaint has already been lodged before the International Olympic Committee and the Indian Olympic Association. The tournament doubles up as a pre-Olympic test event before the Games begin in Jul 2012.
