Oklahoma City Thunder Defeat Detroit Pistons For Their 11th Consecutive Victory

Jalen Williams contributed 23 points, while Chet Holmgren added 22 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks. The Thunder now hold a three-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the race for the league's best record with six games left.

Tim Hardaway Jr. stepped up for the Pistons, scoring 23 points in place of Cade Cunningham, who was sidelined with a bruised left calf. The Pistons were also without three players due to suspensions from an altercation with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ron Holland II and Marcus Sasser served their suspensions, while Isaiah Stewart began his two-game suspension.

Thunder Secure 11th Straight Win Over Pistons

The Thunder showcased their dominance against Eastern Conference teams this season, finishing with a remarkable 29-1 record. Their only loss came against Cleveland on January 8. This impressive performance resulted in a winning percentage of 96.7%, setting a new league record for success against an opposing conference.

In attendance was Commissioner Adam Silver, witnessing another strong performance by Oklahoma City. Lu Dort's tip-in at halftime gave them a 65-59 lead, which they extended with a 10-0 run at the start of the second half. Although Detroit narrowed the gap to four points in the fourth quarter, Oklahoma City finished strongly.

The Miami Heat continued their winning streak by defeating the Boston Celtics 124-103. Tyler Herro led Miami with 25 points and nine assists, while Bam Adebayo added 21 points. Seven Heat players scored in double figures during this game that capped off a successful three-game road trip.

The Celtics had their nine-game winning streak snapped despite Jaylen Brown's contribution of 24 points and nine rebounds. Jayson Tatum and Derrick White each scored 16 points for Boston. The Heat built on their strong first half by starting the third quarter with a 10-3 run to extend their lead to 22 points.

Cavaliers Secure Victory Over Knicks

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the New York Knicks with a score of 124-105, matching their second-highest win total in franchise history at 61 wins. Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland with 27 points, while Jarrett Allen contributed an additional 21 points.

This victory gives Cleveland a five-game lead for the top seed in the Eastern Conference following Boston's loss to Miami. The Cavaliers trailed by seven at halftime but took control in the third quarter with an impressive run that secured their win.

Karl-Anthony Towns returned for New York after missing Tuesday's game due to knee soreness and scored 25 points along with grabbing 13 rebounds. OG Anunoby added another solid performance with his contribution of scoring efforts for New York.
