Oklahoma City Thunder's coach, Mark Daigneault, believes his team deserves recognition for their remarkable achievements this season. The Thunder set a new NBA record for scoring differential, surpassing the Los Angeles Lakers' 1971-72 record. They outscored opponents by an average of 12.9 points per game, finishing the regular season with a 68-14 record.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a standout player averaging 32.7 points per game, is a strong contender for the NBA's MVP award. He emphasised that the team's approach will remain consistent in the playoffs. "We all know what got us to this point," he stated. "It's just about doubling down on that and keeping our heads down and trusting the work."

The Thunder secured the top seed in the Western Conference after defeating the Phoenix Suns last week. They concluded their regular season with a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, winning 115-100. Aaron Wiggins led with 28 points while regular starters were rested.

Daigneault acknowledges the importance of celebrating these accomplishments while maintaining focus for the upcoming playoffs. "We can appreciate and be grateful for the things we've accomplished and still be hungry," he said. "Both things can be true."

The Thunder will begin their playoff journey at home on April 20 against either the Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, or Dallas Mavericks. Despite their success, Daigneault stresses the need to stay focused as they prepare for these crucial games.

Pelicans' Disappointment

The New Orleans Pelicans missed out on playoff contention this year after qualifying in two of their last three seasons under head coach Willie Green. Green expressed uncertainty about his future with the team, stating, "I haven't had any discussions or any talks yet." He took responsibility for their performance: "I didn't do great. I have to take full ownership of where we are as a team."
