Olympic dream gone in 81 seconds

London, Jul 31: India's disappointing campaigns in various sports at London Olympics 2012 continued on Tuesday as judoka Garima Chaudhary was the latest to the list of exiting athletes.

Garima's Olympic debut was shattered in just 81 seconds!

Yes, it took just over a minute for Garima's opponent to send her packing. Japan's Yoshie Ueno knocked out Garima in the women's 63kg category round of 32 at ExCeL North Arena 2.

The 22-year-old was blown away by Ueno who is seven years senior to her. The girl from Meerut was not expected to progress further but this experience will help her come back stronger next time.

Ueno, one of the top judokas in the world, blanked her opponent 100-0.

The referee Vladimir Hnika signalled an end to the fight after 81 seconds as the Japanese judoka was awarded "Ippon" which meant maximum points on offer. This is for keeping her rival with her back fixed to the mat for 25 seconds.

Uena did that and achieved victory. The Japanese is an experienced campaigner, boasting of World Championship titles in 2009 and 2010.
