The Indian mixed archery team is set for an exciting Round of 16 clash against Indonesia at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Friday, August 2.
Representing India, Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara will compete against Indonesian archers Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangestu in this pre-quarter-final match.

The ranking round at the Paris Olympics saw India finish impressively in fifth place, scoring a combined total of 1347 points. In contrast, Indonesia secured the 12th spot with a score of 1326 points.
Dhiraj Bommadevara showcased his exceptional skills by scoring 681 points, earning him the fourth rank. His teammate, Ankita Bhakat, also performed remarkably well, scoring her season-best of 666 points to secure the 11th rank.
On the Indonesian side, Arif Pangestu secured the 40th rank with a total of 656 points, while Diananda Choirunisa scored her personal best of 670 points, achieving an impressive sixth position in the individual ranking round.
Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangestu bring a wealth of experience and accolades to the competition. Choirunisa has a decorated career, including a bronze medal in the team event at the Asian Games 2023, a bronze in the individual event at the 2018 Asian Games, and multiple medals in the 2018 World Cup and Asian Grand Prix.
Arif Pangestu has also made his mark, with a bronze medal in the team event at the 2023 Asian Games and another bronze at the 2023 Asian Outdoor Championships.
In terms of world rankings, Diananda Choirunisa is currently ranked World No. 38 in the women's recurve individual category, while Arif Pangestu holds the 57th spot in the men's recurve rankings.
Their recent performances, particularly the bronze medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, highlight their capabilities as a formidable duo.
Both Indonesian archers secured their spots for the Paris Olympics through their exceptional performances at the World Archery Championships 2023 and the World Archery Road to Paris rankings.
