Yuvraj Singh has said "even in silver there lies a golden journey" as Indian cricket fraternity congratulated Neeraj Chopra after the javelin thrower's historic second successive Olympic medal.
Chopra, who scripted history with a first-ever gold in athletics for India in Tokyo 2020 Olympics, followed that feat with a silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday (August 8).

The 26-year-old Indian athlete fell short of retaining his gold medal in the men's javelin throw final, but managed to secure a silver with a best throw of 89.45 meters. His best throw came on his second attempt. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan won gold with a Olympic record throw of 92.97m.
After post-independence, Chopra became the second male athlete to win two Olympic medals in an individual event. And the country's cricket fraternity reacted to Chopra's achievement.
Former India all-rounder Yuvraj said Chopra's spirit to win in as unbreakable as his javelin's flight and congratulated India's golden boy on his historic feat before congratulating the Pakistan athlete for his record-breaking throw.
