India's Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra will aim for a second successive Olympic gold when he competes in the men's javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday (August 8).
Chopra, who scripted history in Tokyo 2020 Games with the first-ever gold for India in athletics, started off his campaign in Paris with a monstrous 89.34m throw to qualify for the final in his very first attempt in the qualification round on Tuesday (August 6).

India's Neeraj Chopra, Czechia's Jakub Vadlejch, Finland's Lassi Etelatalo, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, Moldova's Andrian Mardare and Germany's Julian Weber are the six athletes from Tokyo 2020 final competing in Paris 2024 final.
Chopra clinched the gold medal in Tokyo 2020 with a best throw of 87.58m, while Czech Republic duo of Jakub Vadlejch and Vitezslav Vesely grabbed the other two medals. Vadlejch won the silver with a 86.67m throw, and his compatriot Vesely took home bronze with a 85.44m throw in the final on August 7, 2021.
