USA swelled their medal count and also caught up on leaders China in terms of gold medals at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on day 6 of the competition - Thursday, August 1.
China, however, took their gold medal count on the Paris Olympics medal table into double digits inside a week of the competition as 50m Rifle 3 position shooter and 20km race walker clinched the yellow metal on the action-packed day that also kicked off the athletics events.

USA, who added the most medals on August 1, is expected to add even more in the coming days with athletics events and medal events in various sports scheduled to take place in the next week and a half in Paris.
Gymnast Simone Biles won the Olympic individual all-around final title, only two days after leading the US women's team back to the gold medal in the team event. Men's Rowers also contributed to two golds.
China with 11 gold medals top the standings after day 6 of the competition at the Paris Olympic Games followed by USA, who have won 9 yellow metals. France, Australia and Japan on 8 gold medals each take the next three spots.
USA lead the table with 37 medals followed by France, who have won 27 medals as of August 1 in Paris. China has won 24 and Great Britain has won 20 medals, while India has won 3 medals.
The host nation drew a blank on day 6 in terms of the yellow metal after a mini rush on day 5 when swimmer Leon Marchand alone won two golds. France is still in second position behind China, and are tied with Japan and Australia for golds at 8.
India added their third medal, which also came in shooting and the colour remained bronze, as they sit in the 44th position on the Olympics 2024 medal table with three bronze medals.
