India's Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra has arrived in Grand Style at the Paris Olympics 2024 in the javelin throw qualification.
The Tokyo 2021 gold medal winner has sown his excellent class in his first throw and qualified with a monstrous 89.34 metre throw in his very first throw.

Neeraj Chopra came in the very first throw in the Group B qualification and qualified in his very first attempt. With this magnificent attempt, the Indian athlete will now take part in the final on Thursday (August 8).
The 26-year-old came to Paris after extensive preparation in Turkey and will now be aiming for glory again in the Final. The 89.34-metre throw is also Neeraj's season-best and it is to be seen how the Indian comes up in the Final.
Apart from Neeraj, Anderson Peters have also qualified for the Final after a magnificent throw of 88.63 metres. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem also managed to advance to the Final of the event with a magnificent 86.59-metre throw in his very first event.
India's other contender Kishore Jena disappointed and his final chances are massively jeopardized after three underwhelming attempts. The Odisha-born couldn't breach the 84-metre qualification mark in his qualification throws and may well be eliminated from the Olympics today.
