However, the teams, athletes and players that win a medal at the Olympic event receive cash rewards from their own country's, home states and the respective sports federations. Even World Athletics rewards the track & field gold medalists prize money.

In India, Olympic medalists receive significant financial rewards, often accompanied by additional perks such as government jobs or housing. They also earn a lot of enrosements.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) also awards prize money to all the Indian medal winners. But there is no official word on how much money the gold, silver and bronze winners receive for finishing on the podium in Paris 2024.

For Paris 2024 medal winners, the IOA had announced Rs 75 Lakh for gold medalists, 50 Lakh for silver medalists and 25 Lakh for bronze winners. Reports had suggest, there has been an increase to the cash awards of IOA, but the Tokyo 2020 cash awards seem to have been retained with a slight bump.
