Fans came in support of double Olympic-medallist Manu Bhaker after the Indian shooter missed out on a historic third medal by a whisker at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Saturday (August 3).
Manu came close to becoming the first Indian to win three medals at the Summer Games, however, the 22-year-old missed the chance after finishing in fourth place in the women's 25m pistol shooting event.

Bhaker, who had won a bronze in 10m pistol inidivual and mixed team events, finished fourth in the women's 25m Pistol final after missing 2 of her 5 shots in the shoot-off against former world record holder Veronika Major of Hungary.
Jiin Yang of South Korea secured the top spot to clinch the gold medal. Camille Jedrzejewski of France had to settle for second place. Meanwhile, Hungary's Veronika Major finished in third place.
Following a heartbreak, fans backed Bhaker, who had already won two medals at the games, saying "we couldn't be prouder", "take a bow" and "remember the name" as the 22-year-old created history as the first Indian to win two medals at the same Olympic event post-independence.
"Remember the name Manu Bhaker. Two Olympics medal in a single edition. Pride of India," one user posted on X as another recognized her incredible achievements.
"So close!!!! Manu Bhaker finishes on the 4th position.... Still the only Indian post independence to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics!!! Shooting has had a good run this Olympics for India!" posted one user on X.
Meanwhile, a few fans also backed Bhaker to win gold at the Los Angeles Olympics, which is set to be held in 2028, "Well Played Manu Bhaker , you will come stronger in LA 2028 Olympics & will win Gold medal."
Earlier at the Paris Olympics, Manu Bhaker opened India's medal tally after she secured third place in the women's individual 10M Air pistol event. Following that, Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker won the Bronze medal in the 10m air pistol (mixed team) event at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Bhaker and her partner Sarabjot Singh secured bronze in the 10 M Air Pistol Mixed team event. Earlier, Bhaker had won bronze in the women's individual 10M Air pistol event. Manu-Sarabjot beat South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the Bronze Medal play-off match.
