Paris Olympics 2024 gets underway this week with over 10,000 athletes from 206 nations competing for glory in various events under different sports across venues in France.
329 events in 32 sports, including the 28 core Olympic sport and four optional sports that were proposed by the Paris Games organizing committe. Breaking will make it's Olympic debut as skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing make it's return from Tokyo 2020.

Bulk of the Olympic events will be held in the city of Paris and it's metropolitan region, including the neighbouring cities of Saint-Denis, Le Bourget, Nanterre, Versailles, and Vaires-sur-Marne.
Basketball will be held in Lille, while Surfing will be staged at Teahupo'o village in the overseas territory of French Polynesia, which pretty far away from the official host city. Football will be hosted across six cities - Marseille, Bordeaux, Décines-Charpieu (Lyon), Nantes, Nice and Saint-Étienne.

While the event officially starts with the opening ceremony on Friday (July 26), some sporting action get under way before the ceremony, starting with football and rugby sevens action on Wednesday (July 24) followed by archery and handball action on Thursday (July 25).
The Paris Olympics 2024 comes to a close with the closing ceremony on Sunday (August 11) after the completion of 13 medal rounds across 9 sports on the final day of the Summer Games.
Although medal rounds start only on Saturday (July 27), the Indian archers will be in action way before the opening ceremony as the women's and men's recurve archers will begin their ranking qualifying round on Thursday (July 25).
The badminton, boxing, shooting, hockey, rowing, table tennis and tennis action will start on Saturday (July 27), while swimming, athletics, wrestling and other action involving the Indian athletes will start on the subsequent days. Here is a look at the Indian action dates:
