Omkar shoots 20th Gold; India close to new record

New Delhi, Oct 9: With Omkar Singh shooting his third gold in the Men's 10m Air Rifle Singles Final category at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, the host country's Gold medal tally mounted to 20 - just ten short of breaking the record set in 2002 Manchester Games 30 gold medals.

Omkar Singh's 10m Air Rifle Singles victory came on Friday, Oct 9, after Indian wrestlers, shooters and archers piled up medals throughout the day.

If India continues its run for gold at the same pace, the country may have a chance of breaking its own record of 30 golds set in 2002 at the Delhi Games, which ends on Oct 14.
