ONE 165 Results: Superlek Kiatmoo9 Beats Takeru Segawa In Classic War, Ruotolo Retains World Title

ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 simply had too many weapons for Takeru Segawa in the ONE 165 main event at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

"The Kicking Machine" used all of his tools to take down Takeru in front of the challenger's adoring home fans , on January 28. It was an enthralling clash of styles throughout the five-round blockbuster.

Superlek expertly controlled the range with his jab and lead push kick. Then, he fired off low kicks and step-up knees as "The Natural Born Crusher" stalked forward looking to land his signature power punches.

In the end, it was the Thai superstar who did the most damage, particularly to Takeru's lead leg, to run away with the unanimous decision victory and a US$50,000 performance bonus to boot.

Also, in the co-main event, ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Champion Kade Ruotolo went 2-0 against European rival Tommy Langaker with a dominant unanimous decision victory.

The 21-year-old American phenom was simply too quick for Langaker, as he cycled through positions and chained together submission attempts all throughout the 10-minute contest.

Ultimately, it was a D'Arce choke attempt midway through the bout that sealed Ruotolo's victory and also netted the American star a US$50,000 performance bonus.
