ONE 168: Denver Bonus Report: Superlek, Seksan, Estupinan And More Take Home Extra US$50,000

By Mike Joseph

ONE 168: Denver was a huge event for ONE. In fact, September 7 marked the promotion's second-ever event on U.S. soil, and the fighters delivered accordingly on a historic night for the martial arts giant.

Here, we look back at the six competitors who walked out of the Circle at Denver, Colorado's Ball Arena US$50,000 richer, courtesy of ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Johan Estupinan took home an extra USD 50K from ONE 168 as performance bonus

Superlek Kiatmoo9

Thai megastar and ONE flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9 stole the show - and Jonathan "The General" Haggerty's ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title - just 49 seconds into the night's main event.

"The Kicking Machine" uncorked a perfectly timed elbow to the head of the onrushing Haggerty, to leave the Brit laid out on the canvas and score himself a lucrative bonus in the process.

Seksan Or Kwanmuang

Seksan Or Kwanmuang netted his ninth win from 10 action-packed appearances under the ONE banner, and yet another bonus to bring back to his newly opened gym in Thailand - Sor Seksan.

"The Man Who Yields To No One" faced British legend Liam Harrison in the latter's retirement match in the 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai co-main event, with three-knockdowns in the second round, earning him the TKO and a five-figure cash injection to boot.

John Lineker

Former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion John Lineker is one of the most prolific finishers in MMA, but the Brazilian showed at ONE 168: Denver that his knockout power translates into Muay Thai too.

Aptly nicknamed "Hands of Stone," Lineker made his debut in "the art of eight limbs" against seasoned American standout Asa Ten Pow. His power punches proved too much once again, as he picked up the second-round TKO.

Adrian Lee

Lightweight MMA sensation Adrian Lee fights like he's double parked, just like his older brother and two-weight ONE MMA World Champion Christian Lee, and that urgency saw him quickly swarm Nico Cornejo.

"The Prodigy" improved to 2-0 with a quick submission win over the home-town hero just 2:37 into the fight. The stunning victory also made it two bonuses from as many professional fights for the talented 18-year-old.

Johan Ghazali

Lee wasn't the only teenager to show his wares on the night, as Malaysian-American 17-year-old star Johan Ghazali needed less than a round to mow down Mexico's Josue Cruz in their catchweight Muay Thai contest.

"JoJo" was back to his scintillating best after suffering the first defeat of his ONE tenure to date this past June. His speed and power are something to behold, and those traits also made him US$50,000 richer this time around.

Johan Estupinan

Viewers simply cannot blink when Colombian flyweight Muay Thai prodigy Johan Estupinan steps into the Circle. The 21-year-old's acrobatics before and after the fight show the sheer athleticism that he brings, but once the fight starts, he is a scary proposition.

"Panda Kick" showed that once again in a crazy slugfest with America's Sean Climaco. The pair traded knockdowns in the first round, before Estupinan roared to the finish line with three knockdowns in the second for his third straight win.
