ONE 169 Results: Oumar Kane Wins Heavyweight MMA Gold, Buntan Crowned Inaugural Strawweight Kickboxing Queen

By Mike Joseph

Senegalese powerhouse "Reug Reug" Oumar Kane wrapped up the promotion's electric ONE 169 card in Bangkok, Thailand, with a crushing upset of now former three-division MMA World Champion Anatoly Malykhin on Saturday, November 9.

The TRIPL3 MMA martial artist had to put in the work to leave the Thai capital with the ONE Heavyweight MMA World Title wrapped around his waist, but he more than proved his worth against the Russian star who never once backed down throughout their duel inside Lumpinee Stadium.

The 32-year-old wore Malykhin down as the match progressed, relying on his sheer strength and power to frustrate the defending king, who had his moments in this match. After a five-round scrap, Kane took home the win via split decision.

Before the Senegalese star wrote his name into the history books by becoming the first African ONE World Champion, Jackie Buntan enjoyed a crowning moment of her own in her inaugural ONE Women's Strawweight Kickboxing World Title tilt against the legendary Anissa "C18" Meksen.

The Filipino-American took some time to adjust in her kickboxing debut, but once she shifted into gear, she never looked back. Buntan landed the cleaner shots in this five-round thriller and deservingly walked away with the unanimous decision nod to lay her hands on the coveted ONE World Title.

Meanwhile, Rodtang "The Iron Man" Jitmuangnon, who lost his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title on the scales, emerged victorious with a unanimous decision in his 135.5-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest against No.3-ranked contender Jacob Smith.

Despite the result, the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai title remained vacated as only Smith was eligible to win the championship. Also, on the under card, former Flyweight MMA champion Adriano Moraes won in his first fight since back-to-back defeats to legendary "Mighty Mouse" Demetrious Johnson.

"The Black Diamond" Moraes, who last fought inside the ONE Championship circle back in May 2023, choked out Danny Kingad in the second-round to make a winning return. Plus, Kade Ruotolo won on his MMA debut, submitting Ahmed Mujtaba in the first round of a lightweight bout. Here is a look at the final results of ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug:
