ONE 170: Striking Legend Superbon Targets Double-Champ Status Against Tawanchai

Reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon is on a quest for two-sport glory as he challenges for Tawanchai PK Saenchai's ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title at ONE 170 this Friday, 24 January.

The Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, is set to host the exhilarating showdown between the two megastars in this much-awaited main event. This marks their second meeting in 13 months, following a hard-fought first encounter.

Since his last bout with Tawanchai, Superbon has claimed the kickboxing title and made a triumphant return to Muay Thai, knocking out his compatriot "Smokin" Jo Nattawut in epic fashion. The 34-year-old claims he has improved significantly and promises their rematch will be completely different.

"Since the previous fight [with Tawanchai] to today, it's been a year I've been in training. My stamina and power have improved. My skills have been better and more precise. I can feel that this fight is going to be very different," Superbon said.

"He has one advantage, as he's younger, and he can recover faster. While I have an advantage in my experience, skills, preciseness, knowing when to tone things up and down."

Superbon is a renowned figure in the striking world, having achieved tremendous success by defeating some of the biggest names in the game. With an overall striking record of 116-36, the 34-year-old is as hungry as ever for the gold.

His last defeat at the hands of Tawanchai surely remains a sore spot. Now, he has the perfect opportunity to claim the Muay Thai World Title and become a two-sport ONE World Champion. But the Superbon Training Center product states that defeating all top-ranked contenders is also his ultimate dream.

"The highest goal in my life is being a champion of two sports, being the number one striker. That's my main goal. The other goal is to beat everyone in the rankings. I feel like the goal of fighting is to defeat everyone." Superbon said.
