ONE Championship Announces Nico Carrillo Vs. Nabil Anane ONE World Title Rematch For The Inner Circle 43

ONE Championship has revealed a blockbuster ONE World Title rematch. Reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Nico Carrillo will defend his crown against former bantamweight Muay Thai titleholder Nabil Anane at The Inner Circle 43 on Friday, December 18.

ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong shared the news on his Facebook page. It sets up a long-awaited chance for both strikers to settle the score, with Carrillo making the first defense of his undisputed title against the man who handed him his only promotional loss.

The two first collided in January 2025 at ONE 170 for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title. Fans and pundits leaned toward Carrillo, who was riding a four-fight knockout streak, while Anane entered on a five-fight winning streak.

Anane shocked the doubters, dropping Carrillo three times in one round to win via TKO under the three-knockdown rule and claim the interim gold. Carrillo is a 5-foot-10 Scottish knockout artist with a career striking record of 31-4 and a ONE mark of 8-1.

After losing the interim title, he moved up to featherweight. In February 2026, he beat Thai veteran Shadow Mawynn by unanimous decision in a five-round clash to claim the interim title.

In July, divisional king Tawanchai PK Saenchai vacated his crown to focus on recovery and rehabilitation, and Carrillo was promoted to undisputed champion. As the saying goes, a champion isn't a champion until he defends his belt, and now he gets that chance.

Anane is a 6-foot-4 Algerian-Thai striker from Venum Training Camp and Team Mehdi Zatout. He holds a career record of 42-7 and a ONE slate of 9-3, and he is a former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion.

After losing his debut fight, Anane did not lose again between September 2023 and November 2025. In 2026, he lost his title and then another fight, the first time in his ONE career he suffered back-to-back defeats.

Anane bounced back with a remarkable win over Yuki Yoza earlier this month, and he now gets the chance to prove his first victory over Carrillo was no fluke while chasing championship gold once again.
