The promotion marked these athletes as 'Released' on its website. No official explanation has been provided about these releases. However, the lackluster performance of these stars in recent times could be one of the reasons.
Former ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling World Champion Kelly first lost her crown to Brazilian grappling powerhouse Mayssa Bastos in August 2024. Four months later, she got another shot at recapturing the title but fell short, losing via unanimous decision.
The 29-year-old American's ONE record stands at three wins, two losses, and one draw since making her debut in 2022. Another notable name released was of Chinese star Meng Bo, a ONE veteran with a promotional record of 6-4.
After starting strong with three wins, she suffered four losses in her next seven outings. The Tiger Wang Gym moved down a division from strawweight to atomweight, securing a win against Chihiro Sawada and falling to her compatriot and reigning ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Xiong Jing Nan.
Mongolian fighter Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg was among the names on the release list. He most recently competed at ONE Fight Night 33 on 12 July, losing via third-round submission against rising Filipino MMA star Jhanlo Mark Sangiao.
Zoltsetseg had gone through a rough patch, losing four of his previous five fights, all but one by stoppage. Additionally, another Chinese star Xie Wei was taken off the roster. "The Hunter" was on a three-fight losing streak.
Lastly, Australian MMA fighter Antonio Mammarella was released after failing to register a win in his two-fight stint. The 25-year-old suffered a submission loss to Adrian Lee, followed by a unanimous decision defeat to Oliver Axelsson.
