ONE Championship: Fight Night 34 set for Two Epic Clashes in Bangkok with Title Shots on the Line

ONE Championship has added two contender matchups to the docket for ONE Fight Night 34. On Saturday, 2 August, the heavyweight and featherweight divisions will see a shakeup. The event will hail from Bangkok, Thailand's historic Lumpinee Stadium.

At ONE Fight Night 12 in 2023, Garry Tonon weathered an early blitz from Shamil Gasanov to finish by kneebar. Two years later, they will run it back. One man will emerge with a credible case to challenge Tang Kai for the ONE Featherweight MMA World Title.

In the two years since the match, Gasanov has stormed back with four wins over high-caliber opposition. Tonon added a win over Martin Nguyen in January 2024 to extend his streak to three. Both high-level contenders want gold and believe a standout showing will secure their shot.

The heavyweights will not be outdone. Ben Tynan returns against Kirill Grishenko in a tilt between two titans eager to finish the other. Both plan to put ONE Heavyweight MMA World Champion "Reug Reug" Oumar Kane on notice.

Tynan may be bolstered by a wrestling pedigree, but his professional career has all been about finishing his opponent. With a perfect 100 percent finishing rate, "Vanilla Thunder" has rattled the division with his presence. But Grishenko is his stiffest test to date.

Grishenko failed in his attempt to nab interim gold in 2022. However, after putting together back-to-back wins, he has shown a revamped skill set to contend at the top of the division. There is nothing more he wants than another crack at Kane.

Both matchups feature skilled finishers and hungry contenders. With motivations running high, fans should expect both bouts to be high-octane. The stakes are high with the most skilled martial artists in the world ready to give it their all.

ONE Fight Night 34 will be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Select 2 at 6:30 a.m. India Standard Time (IST) on Saturday, 2 August.
