ONE Championship: Regian Eersel Aims To “Break” George Jarvis In World Title Fight At ONE Fight Night 34

By MyKhel Staff

Regian Eersel will step into the fabled ONE Championship ring to once again prove why he is called "The Immortal." The Dutch-Surinamese superstar will put his ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title on the line for the third time against British brawler George Jarvis.

These fighters, both of whom have never been knocked out in their career, will clash in the main event of ONE Fight Night 34 on 2 August, airing live from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

In 2022, the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion in Eersel challenged for the inaugural ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title, defeating Thai star Sinsamut Klinmee via split decision to become a two-sport ONE World Champion.

Since then, he has defended his crown against Klinmee in a rematch and against Dmitry Menshikov, decimating both strikers by knockout. He plans to do just that against his new challenger. Eersel believes that Jarvis won't be ready.

"He's never faced someone like me, but that's also the same for me. I never fought someone like him. But you will know why I'm still the champion," Eersel said. "That's why I said there's levels to this game."

What the 32-year-old said is entirely true, but "G-Unit" doesn't go down easily. Following a razor-close loss in his ONE debut, he came back with a vengeance and scored four consecutive victories earning a six-figure main roster contract.

Meanwhile, Eersel is arguably the greatest athlete in the heavier striking divisions. Boasting a career record of 63-5, the Sityodtong Amsterdam representative has defeated several high-profile athletes.

Now, he has his sights fixed on the Englishman, who is in red hot-from. However, Eersel pointed out that his opponent has only competed his three-rounds fights and won't be ready for five gruelling rounds.

"Mentally, maybe he's not ready for the five rounds. He only fought three rounds in ONE Championship. So in the championship rounds, I think he will break. I'm gonna see how bad he wants it. I'm just gonna let him feel my energy and pressure," Eersel said.
